Parent Reminder: LOP Illness Policy

With it being cold and flu season, we want to remind all our Little Oak families about our illness policy, taken directly from the Parent Handbook.

When your child needs to be at home:

In order for us to maintain a healthy environment for your child, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines. We know children who are ill do not enjoy being at school, and risk endangering the health of other children. We ask that you keep your child home from school when they have:

  • A fever of 100 degrees or above – Fever needs to have subsided for 24 hours (without medication) before a child can return to school.
  • Diarrhea or vomiting – Child may return to school after symptoms have ceased for 24 hours.
  • Nasal discharge that is yellow/green
  • An undiagnosed eye discharge
  • An undiagnosed skin rash
  • Head lice and nits
  • Severe or persistent cough
  • Pain

Also, please know that we will ask that your child be picked up if he/she is not able to fully participate in our program. If your child is picked up from school for any of the above stated reasons, he/she cannot return to school the same day. Children who express discomfort, are not feeling well or fall asleep during school will be more comfortable at home.

Please stop by our office if you have any concerns.

Thank you!
